PACA Hosts three Events During March 2015
The Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) will host three events during March 2015.

The Authority will host the two-day, and first of its kind in the Sultanate, International Scientific Conference under the theme ' Reducing Tsunami Risks in North Indian Ocean' alongside with its associated exhibition for early warning and forecast systems on March 22nd and 23rd 2015. 300 people including 200 from the Sultanate will take part in the conference.

38 researchers and speakers will take part in the conference, which gathers digital model designers, geologists, earthquake scientists and Tsunami professionals in the West Indian Ocean, infrastructure planners and experts in communication and social science.

PACA will also launch the National Multi-Hazard Early Warning System (NMHEWS).
It will also celebrate the World Day of Meteorology, which falls on March 23rd. This year's celebrations are held under the theme climate knowledge for climate action.

PACA will also host the 10th meeting of the Intergovernmental Coordination Group for the Indian Ocean Tsunami Warning and Mitigation System (ICG/IOTWS) from March 24th to 26th, 2015 with representatives of 28 countries.

Dr. Mohammed bin Nasser al- Za'abi, CEO of PACA said that the three events, organized in collaboration with the UNESCO, aim at inviting scientific community to organize more researches and studies and to advise the community of the NMHEWSA. They also aim at enhancing regional cooperation in raising public awareness and readiness and show more interest in developing human resources in this area
