The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and the Oman Journalists Association (OJA) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at strengthening cooperation and exchanging expertise in media-related fields, while supporting specialized media coverage of the civil aviation sector.
The memorandum was signed on behalf of the CAA by H.E. Eng. Naif bin Ali Al-Abri, President of the Authority, and on behalf of the Association by Salem bin Hamad Al Jahwari, Vice Chairman of the Oman Journalists Association. The signing took place during the CAA President’s visit to the Association.
The Cooperation imitative considered as part of efforts to strengthen communication between the CAA and media institutions, broaden areas of cooperation in the exchange of expertise and information, and support media coverage of events and activities related to the aviation sector.
The areas of cooperation also include leveraging media expertise and strengthening communication between aviation specialists and journalists, contributing to enriching specialized media content and raising awareness of the sector’s various fields and developments.
H.E. Eng. Naif bin Ali Al-Abri, President of the Civil Aviation Authority, said: “Cooperation with the Oman Journalists Association highlighted the CAA’s commitment to strengthening communication with media institutions and providing media professionals with greater opportunities to gain a broader understanding of the various areas of the civil aviation sector and its developments”
Al-Abri added : “ We hope this cooperation will contribute to supporting specialized media, enhancing the dissemination of knowledge and information from authoritative sources, and highlighting the sector’s ongoing development, as well as the objectives of the National Aviation Strategy 2040, which contribute to enhancing the sector’s competitiveness and sustaining its growth.”
For his part , Salem bin Hamad Al Jahwari, Vice Chairman of the Oman Journalists Association, said: “Cooperation with the Civil Aviation Authority represents an opportunity to strengthen the presence of specialized media in one of the vital sectors in the Sultanate of Oman and to enable journalists and media professionals to gain closer insight into the various fields of aviation, as well as the nature of the work and developments taking place in the sector.
He added “ Through this cooperation, we look forward to expanding channels of communication between journalists and specialists, helping to provide more informed and in-depth media content and enhancing the presence of the aviation sector in the media landscape.”
The visit also included a dialogue session with H.E. the President of the Civil Aviation Authority, moderated by media professional Khalid Al Zadjali. The session addressed a number of topics related to the civil aviation sector in the Sultanate of Oman, including the National Aviation Strategy 2040, aviation regulation and safety, air navigation, meteorology, and the future of the sector, in addition to the role of the media in keeping pace with the development of civil aviation and raising awareness of its various fields and specializations.
The partnership underscores the importance of strengthening cooperation between the aviation sector and media institutions, supporting the dissemination of specialized knowledge and contributing to media content that reflects the development of the civil aviation sector in the Sultanate of Oman, the objectives of the National Aviation Strategy 2040, and the sector’s ongoing development and preparedness for the next phase.
