Sultanate of Oman to Participate in the 42nd ICAO General Assembly

The Sultanate of Oman will participate in the 42nd Session of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) General Assembly, set to commence on 23 September 2025 in Montreal, Canada. The two-week gathering will bring together representatives from 193 Member States and 18 specialized international organizations.
As the foremost global event in the field of civil aviation, the ICAO General Assembly is the organization’s sovereign body. It usually convenes at least once every three years, in accordance with a decision of the ICAO Council, which is its executive authority, with the participation of Member States and specialized international organizations. The Assembly serves as a platform to strengthen international cooperation and coordinate efforts to advance the civil aviation sector.
The Sultanate of Oman’s participation in this high-profile international forum underscores its role as an active partner in the global civil aviation community, represented by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), which contributes to supporting ICAO’s strategic objectives and applying best international practices in the sector.
Specialists from the Authority will also present a number of working papers and information documents highlighting Oman’s experiences and initiatives in various areas of civil aviation, in line with its commitment to enhancing safety, security, and sustainability in the sector.
This taking part reaffirms Oman’s distinguished position in the civil aviation field, both through its active contributions in regional and international forums and by hosting specialized events and workshops that promote the exchange of expertise and strengthen international cooperation in this vital domain.
