Civil Aviation Authority Launches Enhanced Oman Meteorology Website and Mobile App, Advancing Digital Transformation in Line with Oman Vision 2040

In line with Oman Vision 2040 and the country's digital transformation efforts, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) today launched the enhanced version of the Oman Meteorology website and mobile application. The platform offers accurate, real-time weather updates across the Sultanate of Oman.
The updated website and mobile app feature a seamless, user-friendly interface that allows users to quickly access weather data. A color-coded alert system displays the intensity of weather conditions such as wind speed, rainfall, and wave height, making it easier to understand current forecasts and take appropriate action.
The website and app both use artificial intelligence to analyze big meteorological data, enabling more accurate forecasts and customized alerts based on users’ geographic locations and behavior. This enhances the ability of both the public and concerned authorities to plan and make decisions effectively.
Additional features include daily and hourly forecasts, early warnings for weather risks such as heavy rain, strong winds, fog, high waves, floods, cyclones, and tropical systems. The platform also provides interactive maps, charts, and written reports to support climate studies and research in the Sultanate of Oman.
Commenting on the launch, H.E. Eng. Naif bin Ali Al Abri, President of the Civil Aviation Authority, said: "The launch of the enhanced Oman Meteorology website and mobile app reflects the Authority’s efforts to strengthen community engagement, keep pace with global digital developments, and improve public access to meteorological and climate data through smart, interactive tools. This marks a significant step toward more advanced, accurate services that meet the needs of our society."
The launch took place during the CAA’s 2025 Media Briefing, held under the auspices of H.E. Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al Harrasi, Minister of Information, with the participation of strategic partners, concerned authorities, and media representatives from various public and private entities.
